The Redevelopment Authority is applying for a grant for preservation and rehab of homes in the rural areas of our county. This grant, The Rural Home Preservation Grant, is available through the United States Dept. of Agriculture. Please note: As of June 1^st, 2024, if you live within city limits, we currently only have funding for our Lead Hazard remediation program, which requires that, in addition to income qualifications, the home also must have a child aged FIVE (5) or younger either living in the home or spending more than six (6) hours per week there. All other city programs are closed at this time. We encourage you to complete and submit this application, so that we can contact you when new city funds become available.

If you are within city limits and have already submitted an application for other funding, you have been added to our waitlist and will be contacted as soon as new funds become available. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please know that need within the city is extremely high and that we have received nearly 1,000 applications since our most recent grant-funded program opened in June 2022. We continue to do our best to help as many Erie residents as we possibly can, and are actively working on obtaining additional funding.

Please note that the Redevelopment Authority does not have any "emergency funding" available, and we regret that we are unable to accommodate any such requests.

We aren't able to offer any specific timeframe for when an application will be processed or when work will be performed. As we process applications, be aware that they are handled in the order that they are received.

When it's your turn, we will contact you to begin your intake process. While you are welcome to call the office for any information regarding the programs, we are unable to give status updates, and calls will not result in faster application processing. Submission of an application does not constitute acceptance into any of the RACE programs and is neither a contract nor a guarantee of work to be performed. Please know that applications and financials have to be updated every six months, without exception. It is possible that you will have to provide updated documentation more than once throughout this process.
