Available Homebuyer Assistance

The Erie Redevelopment Authority has been working diligently with The City of Erie, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to be able to provide financial assistance to low to moderate individuals seeking to purchase select homes in the city of Erie.

Qualified buyers can recieve up to $44,000 for newly contructed homes, or up to $24,000 for rehabilitated older homes which is used to reduce the amount needed to borrow for a mortgage in order to purchase.

The homes that qualify for this program are located in the Central City Erie area.  This area of town has undergone an incredible facelift in recent years, and boasts over 22 newly constructed homes that have sold to people of moderate income.
